We have laminate Floors in Austin Texas. When you are worried about the possibilities of your floors being scratched by your pet dog or cat, we have the floors for you. Not all laminate flooring are made the same.
Laminate flooring is probably the way to go. When you have pet dog or cat, laminate flooring is the choice to make most of the time. Cats pee and so do dogs, accidents do happen. Urine odor from a loved pet can be a real problem. Especially when you cannot seem to rid of the problem. First of all carpet is not a good idea, period. Pet urine can cause a serious issue if the tack strip that runs along your baseboard is soaked with it. This piece of wood that is directly underneath your carpet along the edge is made of a pine or oak. Once it is soaked with the waste material substance, it may not ever go away. The urine will soak to the bottom of the strip, trapping it there. Over time your concrete floors of sub floors absorb this and it lingers on thru out the house. Even if you are use to it, your guests are probably not. There are systems to properly rid of old flooring, and install a new one. Depending on the problem, laminate floors may not be the answer.

A laminate floor is easy to install and can be installed over any sub-flooring surface, as long as it is clean, flat, and free of debris.

Click together, or snap together, and glue laminate floors(not very common)

The glue laminate a special glue is applied manually to the tongue & grooves of each plank

The glueless laminate floor is common No glue, just click, or snap-fit lock planks together. Almost all laminate flooring are of this type.

Trims and moldings are available for laminate floors. Moldings are laminated over a fiber core so they match the floor.

If a laminate floor trim or molding is not available, a wooden piece of trim with stain can be made to accommodate the color.

All laminate floors use a floating installation Laminate floors just rest on top of the subfloor. Laminate floors are never secured by any glue. They set on top of the substrate and are never fastened to the sub-floor.

Every laminate flooring product have a specially designed tongue-and-groove interlocking system, that is used to secure the laminate planks together.

Your can float entire floor over a variety of sub floor materials, such as plywood, OSB, existing vinyl flooring, concrete slabs, etc...

You never have to glue-down, staple down, or nail-down laminate flooring. Sub-floors must always be flat and leveled.

Almost all laminate floors can be used anywhere within the home, including wet area (but may not be warranted). There is no need for was or polish for laminate floors. Excessive moisture may affect a laminate floor's inner core and overall performance.

Laminate planks require a special underlayment pad for noise reduction and so they can move freely. Laminate floors can make a click noise when walked on.

Any glue less laminate floors are a good do-it-yourself flooring product for any house of any type.

Highly resistant to the effects of sunlight. Most laminate floors can be used over radiant heated concrete slabs.
