What is Laminate Flooring?

Laminate flooring (also called floating wood tile in United States and Canada) is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring simulates wood (or sometimes stone) with a photographic applique layer under a clear protective layer. The inner core layer is usually composed of melamine resin and fiber board materials. There is sometimes a glue backing for ease of installation. It has the advantages of costing less than natural floor materials, and of being more durable and hygienic than carpet

The unique angle-click locking system makes installation quick and easy. Laminate flooring are a great do-it-yourself type of flooring for any house, office, or place of business. All our Laminate flooring are safe to install over radiant heat. Combine these features with an exceptionally low price point, and it is clear that Laminate is an economical choice that doesn't compromise quality.

Overview of Laminate flooring

  • A laminate floor is easy to install and can be installed over any sub-flooring surface, as long as it is clean, flat, and free of debris.
  • Laminate floors are extremely impact, scratch, sunlight fade and stain resistant

  • Laminate floors are extremely tough, they may be scratched by big dogs or dragging heavy objects across your floor, but are harder to scratch than regular hardwood flooring.

  • Trims and moldings are available for laminate floors. Moldings are laminated over a fiber core so they match the floor.

  • All laminate floors use a floating installation Laminate floors just rest on top of the subfloor. Laminate floors are never secured by any glue. They set on top of the substrate and are never fastened to the sub-floor.

  • Every laminate flooring product have a specially designed tongue-and-groove interlocking system, that is used to secure the laminate planks together.

  • Your can float entire floor over a variety of sub floor materials, such as plywood, OSB, existing vinyl flooring, concrete slabs, etc...

  • You never have to glue-down, staple down, or nail-down laminate flooring. Sub-floors must always be flat and leveled.

  • Almost all laminate floors can be used anywhere within the home, including wet area (but may not be warranted). There is no need to wax or polish laminate floors.
  • Highly resistant to the effects of sunlight. Most laminate floors can be used over radiant heated concrete slabs.
