What should my expectations be from beginning to end of an installation?
Once your wood floor has acclimated to your house and we have conducted a moisture
test in your concrete slab, installation should be the next step. First we ask
one day before to remove any electronics, breakables, books, valuables, mid-size
furniture, antiquities of the sort. Any big furniture you cannot move, Austin
Tile and Wood will move those for you.
Our dust control system will be set up before proceeding. Any pets such as loose
dogs and cats should be kept away at all times, for they can track glue in and
out of your house. Because we use high powered equipment and sharp machinery,
children should be kept out of the way.
Our team will remove carpet, pad, and tack strip, vinyl tile, ceramic tile, or
pre-existing wood floors accordingly. Next your slab will be professionally stripped
away from paint and foreign material. An evaluation of slab is conducted to be
sure it is level. Leveler will be applied if needed, this compound may take 2-24
hours to dry depending on the amount and weather.
Once your floor has been prepared, door jams will be undercut to make sure wood
floors slide underneath. If you have a rock or a stone fireplace or wall, it
too will be undercut with our machine to ensure the wood slides underneath. Austin
Tile and Wood will begin installation right afterwards.
Although we use odorless mineral spirits to clean the glue up with, there might
be a faint odor of the agent, which will reside after we leave.
After the installation is completed, our team will apply furniture pads underneath
your furniture free of service. Our team will then move your furniture back to
the location of your choice. After a full inspection, our team will then have
completed the project. Any issues you may have afterwards for any reason, our
team will be more than happy to go back and address them. Our service is superior
